During the spring and summer months, Rutgers Master Gardeners of Mercer County receive many plant disease samples and questions from Helpline clients regarding their turf, shrubs, trees, vegetables and other ornamental plants. Kathryn will provide a background about the science of plant diseases and then discuss some common diseases of turf, shrubs, trees, vegetables and ornamentals that take place during the spring and summer.
Kathryn Homa, Ph.D., is the Program Associate and Horticulturist for Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Mercer County. She has a background in Plant Pathology, sweet basil breeding and pesticide research.
