Hour Requirement for Master Gardener Interns:
60 volunteer hours total
-30 hours on Helpline at 1440 Parkside and/or at MG community outreach events (6 hours required with a mentor at 1440 Parkside)
-5 hours at MEG relating to composting or site maintenance
-25 hours your choice from approved Master Gardener activities (can include Helpline)
Certified Master Gardeners With Less Than 1,000 Hours:
30 volunteer hours total plus 10 hours of continuing education
-6 hours on Helpline at 1440 Parkside and/or at MG community outreach events
-24 hours consisting of approved Master Gardener activities (can include Helpline)
-10 hours of continuing education (online or in-person content that is approved as CE by Justine)
Certified Master Gardeners With 1,000 + Hours:
30 volunteer hours total plus 10 hours of continuing education
-30 hours consisting of approved Master Gardener activities (can include Helpline)
-10 hours of continuing education (online or in-person content that is approved as CE by Justine)
